![]() The book starts with present day Theo in a hotel, where he begins recounting some memories that lead up to how he got in his current predicament. However to me personally, it was a tedious read and I didn’t care for the characters or plot either. I first read this book because of the many raving reviews it had it even has a 3.88 average star-rating on Goodreads. There are many parts which I did not like as well as many aspects of this book that weren’t enjoyable to me. I’m seriously debating between a 2 ½ and a 3 star rating. ![]() However, in the end, I don’t feel that it deserved my reading it and the ride that it took me through wasn’t enjoyable. ![]() I almost put the book down at least twice and DNF’d it, but decided to continue as I wanted to see how it ended. ![]() The Goldfinch was slowly starting to weigh me down with every flip of the page I gave it on my Kindle. ![]()
